I want to share my pressure wave management strategy for my upcoming labour- so here it is! I plan on using hypnobirthing techniques as well as my essential oils for labour, transition, and postpartum healing.
The following is specifically for labour.
The following is specifically for labour.
PRESSURE WAVE MANAGEMENT STRATEGY
Moving
Things Along:
Ø Clary Sage
& GODDESS
Ø Massage
into perineum during labor: AB10 bottle
Ø 5
drops Frankincense (if labor is progressing swiftly; if not use
clary sage)
Ø Stretch
and Massage vaginal opening using: AB10 bottle
Ø The
Frankincense also helped to sooth the “burning” feeling that sometimes
comes when baby is crowning.
Strengthen
Contractions:
Apply
Clary Sage around the inside of her ankles. Others have applied the essential
oil, along with a carrier oil, directly to the abdomen.
Some
have found it helpful to take one drop of Clary Sage internally in a glass
of milk or almond milk every hour or so during labor. Still others prefer
taking a few drops of Clary Sage in a capsule.
PRESSURE RELIEVER:
Lavender
massage oil along inside and bottom of feet, and massaged into hips. And Valor
4-6 drops to wrists, chest, & base of neck.
Uterine
Discomfort:
My
personal favourite form of relief during my labors was this:
Place
15-20 drops of lavender in water.
Have someone assigned to keeping a steady flow of warm, wrung out, washcloths
to place across your belly during contractions.
Lavender
is very helpful for dulling and easing uterine contractions;
but it is also good for relieving back and leg soreness too. In addition,
it is balancing and calming oil that can help to relax the body and ease
nervousness. It restores emotional balance, and has been said to
strengthen contractions.
During Transition:
Apply
Frankincense to abdomen in carrier oil or on warm washcloth as described above.
Soreness
During Normal Labour:
Frankincense,
Apply to sore areas of back, legs, or hips.
Deep
Relief applied to the back of neck or temples (be
careful not to get in eyes). Peppermint or lavender may also be good choices.
I am excited for this powerful experience in my life and so so happy I found essential oils!
